About Algaida
The municipality of Algaida, with an area of 87.61 km2, is located to the southwest of Pla de Mallorca. It consists of three urban centers: Algaida, Pina and Randa.
It is very well connected with Palma and the airport, both only 15 minutes away by car.
In the small square of Algaida (Sa Plaça), where there is a market every Friday morning, you can spend pleasant evenings in the summer.
Algaida has several supermarkets, a pharmacy, an escoleta and the possibility to play sports.
But Algaida is best known for its many restaurants that are open all year round and where customers come from all over the island.
Pina is a small area and perfect for people looking for a house in a very quiet but not isolated area. There is also a weekly market on Tuesday mornings, a pharmacy and a few bars and restaurants.
Randa is a picturesque town at the foot of the ”Puig de Randa”. In the village there are restaurants and a small hotel. From Randa you can go up to three monasteries: The ”Santuari de Gracia”, the hermitage of ”Sant Honorat” and above all the ”Santuari de Cura” where you can also have lunch or dinner. From the top part there are impressive views of almost the entire island.
